Rain does not cancel - it is GOOD for the wildflowers!

We have something for ALL AGES!

FREE Wildflower Map and Wildflower Seeds to be given away as long as supplies last.
Make a day of it. Start at the festival. Drive out and check on the wildflowers.

Bring your Camera! Come see our wildflower display of what is blooming now!
These small displays will include their name, where they like to grow,
and a bit about them that makes them unique to our area
These displays come from plants grown in captivity.

Marlin will share his knowledge of our local wildflowers and tips on how to best photograph them. Some of the images in the Local Wildflowers book are his!

Pacific Wildlife Care
Ever wanted to see a great horned owl, American kestrel, and opossum up close? This is your chance. PWC are bringing these to share this special animal and birds with you. Bring your questions!!
Marlin Harms & The Photo Shop - Photographing our display Wildflowers
Bring your camera! Marlin will share tips on photographing wildflowers using our display of wildflowers at the festival!! Also Canon lens from the Photo Shop in SLO will be available to try out as well!

Taking a Winning Photograph with springtime flowers. Come hear Leslie Bryson as she shares some photography tips with us all. Bring you questions! Bring you camera and afterwards take photos of our display wildflowers!!
Las Pilitas Nursery - with Penny Nyunt and the Native Plants
Penny will bring native flowering plants grown at the Las Pilitas, our local California native plant nursery. Bring your questions and expore the natives that grow here!!

Steve Sinton - "Living among the Wildflowers".
The Shell Creek Road area is where he calls home. This is a chance to talk with someone that shares their wildflowers with all of us!
Carrizo Plains - the closer you look the more you see!, with Loraine Glidewell
This is the time to visit our local National Mounment! Find out about the plants, wildlife, and reasons this area is unique!

"The Night Sky"
- Joseph Carro with the Central Coast Astronomical Society, will share with us, what is up there and why it is important to save the dark sky!

Dr. Dirk Walters, Professor of Botany, will share "Highway 58 wildflowers: Santa Margarita to Carrizo National Monument" with pictures!

“Asistencia Santa Margarita de Cortona”
Author Edward Vernon shares his new book with you and answers questions. This book is an architectural study & history of the mission era structure in Santa Margarita. He will have books for sell as well. Please join him!

The Santa Margarita 4-H will be BBQing both days of the Wildflower Festival.

California Wildflower Photo Contest - Open to ALL.
This is your chance to show off your fabulous California wildflower photos!

Photo Contest: There is one catagory - California Wildflowers!
Entries: No entry fee, 2 enties per person - all must be mounted on a 11 x 14 black or white (only) matt.
Image size including the matt not to exceed 11 x 14.The matt will be stapled to the walls.
Entries Due: Bring your photo(s) to "The Barn", 22390 El Camino Real in Santa Margarita
March 18-22, 10am to 5pm or March 23 to the School 7 to 9am.
. Place your contact information on the back of your photo.
Judging: will be done by public 'Voting' through out the Festival weekend.
Winner to be announced 4pm on Sunday.
